- Mt. Fuji is in view from every hole, according to the club
- Wide fairways and few blind shots, with little up and down
- Promoted by the club as a summer retreat course at Subashiri
- Five minutes from Subashiri IC
Fuji no Mori Golf Club sits at Subashiri in the town of Oyama, on the eastern side of Mt. Fuji. The club gives 8 April 2013 as its opening date under its present name, and it is operated by Accordia Golf. It promotes itself as a summer retreat, a course for escaping the heat.
The course was designed by Ikkai Izumi. It plays 6,190 yards at par 72 on two bentgrass greens. The club describes it as hillside golf with little up and down, wide fairways and few blind holes, so it suits mixed abilities. Its main selling point is the view: the club says Mt. Fuji is visible from every hole on both nines.
Play is self-play in four-seat riding carts with navigation, and fairway driving is offered year-round for a fee when the ground allows. There is a twelve-bay range to 150 yards for irons only, a bath with showers and tubs, and a restaurant that serves lunch. Rental clubs are available; rental shoes are not.
One practical point matters for small groups. On the dates we checked for November 2026, every online plan required three or more players. Rates change by date, by plan and by the number of players, and the prices on this page are examples we checked in October 2026, not a quote.
Getting there
About 2 km — five minutes — from Subashiri IC on the Higashi-Fujigoko Road, 7 km from Shin-Gotemba IC on the Shin-Tomei, and 11 km (about eighteen minutes) from Gotemba IC on the Tomei. The club does not list a club bus, so plan on a car or taxi.
Nearest station: Gotemba (JR Gotemba Line). We include precise written directions (English and Japanese) with every confirmed booking. If you prefer a private car, we can introduce a partner hire-car provider; please confirm golf-bag space and book transport directly with the provider.
Visitor FAQ
Can overseas visitors play Fuji no Mori?+
The club takes public bookings in Japanese, which is the part we handle. We have not yet booked a round here, so we check with the club, for your date, that it will take your booking and on what terms. That check is part of the booking; if we cannot secure it, our fee is refunded in full.
Can two of us play together?+
Possibly not on every date. When we checked November 2026, all online plans required three or more players. If you are a pair, tell us your dates and we will see what the club can offer; if nothing is available we will suggest a nearby course.
What does it cost?+
As an example, the online rates we checked in October 2026 were ¥9,990 for self-play with a lunch subsidy on Friday 6 November, and ¥17,990 to ¥22,990 for Saturday 7 November, all for three or more players. Rates move by date and plan, so we quote your own date before you pay.
How do I get there?+
The club is about five minutes from Subashiri IC and about eighteen minutes from Gotemba IC. It does not list a club bus, so a car or taxi is the practical choice. The nearest station is Gotemba.
Is there a bath, and can I rent clubs?+
There is a bath with showers and tubs; the club does not describe it as a hot spring. Rental clubs cost ¥4,950 a set. The club does not rent shoes.
