Gotemba Tomei Golf Club opened on 24 September 1978 on the gentle lower slopes of Mt. Fuji, in the Kanba district of Gotemba. It is operated by PGM (Pacific Golf Management).
The course was designed by Seizo Tomizawa, whom the club credits with laying out more courses than anyone else in Japan. It is a flat course by local standards. Large trees stand in and along the fairways and separate the holes, and the club says Mt. Fuji can be seen from sixteen of the eighteen. From the blue tees it measures 6,193 yards at par 72, with 5,780 from the whites and 4,424 from the reds — a manageable length for mixed groups.
Play is self-play in GPS-equipped riding carts, and you can pay extra to drive on the fairways when conditions allow. There is a nineteen-bay range to 120 yards. Rental clubs are available. The club also points out facilities for women, such as hair dryers, in the locker rooms.
We have booked rounds here for overseas visitors, including a family group with a child. On the Sunday in October 2026 we booked, self-play with a cart came to ¥20,500 per player, with a small locker charge on top. Rates change by date, by plan and by the number of players, so treat that as an example we checked in 2026, not a quote.
Getting there
A club bus leaves Gotemba station (Hakone-Otome exit) at 8:18 and returns from the club at 16:45; it needs no reservation but does not run on Mondays other than public holidays, and from December 2026 it runs mainly on weekends and holidays. The ride takes about fifteen minutes.
Nearest station: Gotemba (JR Gotemba Line) — about 15 min by club bus. We include precise written directions (English and Japanese) with every confirmed booking. If you prefer a private car, we can introduce a partner hire-car provider; please confirm golf-bag space and book transport directly with the provider.
