Musashigaoka opened in 1983 and is the larger of the two Prince Hotels courses near Hanno. It is a woodland course: eighteen holes, par 72, cut through Musashino forest on gently rolling ground, with ponds bringing water into play. From the back tees on the bentgrass greens it measures 7,016 yards, and the regular tees play about 6,250. The fairways are generous, so the course feels open from the tee even at that length.

Its reputation comes from tournaments. The club has hosted women's professional events since it opened, and in 2026 it is the venue for the Mitsubishi Electric Ladies from 30 October to 1 November — expect the course to be closed to the public around those dates. The club also notes that Tiger Woods played here in the autumn of 1997, his first round in Japan, and reached the par-5 16th, the longest hole on the course, in two. The 17th, a par 4 around a large pond with a sidehill second shot, is the one the club calls its signature.

You can take a caddie or play self, and the riding carts have GPS navigation. The driving range runs over 200 yards with ten bays, and there is a bunker and putting area. There is a bath, and the restaurant looks through glass onto the finishing hole. Rental clubs are ¥4,950, with both right- and left-handed sets. The club does not allow T-shirts, tank tops, jeans or sandals.

Rates change by day and by plan, and weekend rates here are high. The figures on this page are examples we checked in October 2026, not a quote.

Getting there

The course is in Nakayama, Hanno, in western Saitama. A free shuttle bus runs from the south-exit rotary of Hanno station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line and takes about twenty minutes; by taxi it is a short drive of around six minutes. By car it is about 6 km, roughly ten minutes, from Sayama-Hidaka IC on the Ken-O Expressway. From Shinjuku the whole trip is roughly an hour and a half.

Nearest station: Hanno (Seibu Ikebukuro Line) — free shuttle about 20 min. We include precise written directions (English and Japanese) with every confirmed booking. If you prefer a private car, we can introduce a partner hire-car provider; please confirm golf-bag space and book transport directly with the provider.

Visitor FAQ

Can overseas visitors play Musashigaoka?+

Yes. Our records show the club accepts overseas visitors and bookings made on their behalf. Bookings are taken in Japanese, which is the part we handle. We check your date with the club as part of the booking; if we cannot secure it, our fee is refunded in full.

What does it cost?+

For self-play with lunch, the online rates we checked in October 2026 were ¥41,035 on Sunday 29 November, ¥23,535 on Monday 30 November and ¥22,035 on Tuesday 1 December. Rates move by day, so tell us your date and we will come back with the current figure.

Is the course open during the tournament?+

The Mitsubishi Electric Ladies is scheduled here from 30 October to 1 November 2026, and the club notes that it can close for maintenance or tournaments. If your trip is near those dates, we check availability with the club first.

Caddie or self-play?+

Either. Ask for a caddie when booking. Caddie rounds do not allow small stand bags. At many Japanese courses a caddie plan means walking rather than riding — we confirm which applies when we book.

Can I rent clubs?+

Yes, at ¥4,950 per set, with right- and left-handed sets. Stock is limited, so tell us your hand and flex in advance.
