Urawa Golf Club is one of the closest courses to central Tokyo on this site — about an hour door to door, most of it on the JR lines to Musashi-Urawa. It is a flat eighteen holes in Sakura-ku, Saitama City, and the club describes it in terms of its trees: old pines, zelkova, oak and beech separate the holes and give it the feel of Musashino woodland. Ponds come into play on several holes.

From the blue tees the course measures 6,566 yards, par 72. Each hole has a bentgrass green and a Korai green. The club picks out the 16th, a short par 4 that long hitters can reach from the tee with water and bunkers guarding the green, and the 15th, a par 3 over a pond.

You can play with a caddie or self, and both use riding carts with GPS navigation. Rates are set for a group of four; groups of two or three pay a per-person surcharge. Rounds are not played straight through — there is a lunch break, and lunch is charged separately. There is no driving range at the course; the club's own range is about three minutes away by car. The clubhouse is about a five-minute walk from the first tee, so check in forty-five minutes before your start.

For advance storage, bags must be sent by courier; the club does not accept advance drop-offs in person. The club's dress code rules out T-shirts and sweatshirts. On weekends and holidays the club charges ¥4,000 per person for cancellations from three days before play.

Getting there

The course is in Sakura-ku, Saitama City, close to the northern edge of Tokyo. The nearest station is Nishi-Urawa on the JR Musashino Line, but the club notes there is no taxi rank there. Take a taxi instead from Musashi-Urawa (about 4 km, 15 minutes, around ¥1,700) or from Urawa (about 4.7 km, 20 minutes, around ¥2,000). By car it is about five minutes from Urawa-Minami IC on the Shuto Expressway. From central Tokyo the trip is roughly an hour.

Nearest station: Musashi-Urawa (JR Saikyo / Musashino Line) — about 15 min by taxi. We include precise written directions (English and Japanese) with every confirmed booking. If you prefer a private car, we can introduce a partner hire-car provider; please confirm golf-bag space and book transport directly with the provider.

Can overseas visitors play Urawa?+

The club publishes visitor rates and takes visitor bookings, but we have not yet confirmed its position on bookings made for overseas visitors. Bookings are in Japanese, which is the part we handle. We check your date and any conditions with the club as part of the booking; if we cannot secure it, our fee is refunded in full.

How do I get there from Tokyo?+

Take the JR Saikyo Line to Musashi-Urawa, then a taxi of about fifteen minutes. The nearest station, Nishi-Urawa, has no taxi rank, so do not plan on it. Allow about an hour from central Tokyo. We do not arrange transport.

What does it cost?+

For a Friday in November 2026 the online self-play rate was ¥14,500, plus ¥2,200 per person for a group of two. Lunch is extra. Rates change by date, so tell us yours.

Can I rent clubs?+

Rental clubs are listed, but we have not confirmed the price or stock. Tell us your hand and flex and we will ask the club.

Is there a range?+

Not at the course. The club runs a separate 300-yard range about three minutes away by car, which is not practical without a car of your own.
