Matsuyama Kokusai Golf Club opened on 21 July 1970, which makes it the oldest of the three PGM courses around Matsuyama. It is in Toon, east of Matsuyama, laid out across a mountain slope with the Saragamine range above it and the Ishizuchi mountains in the distance.
The club describes the layout as strategic, using the slope rather than flattening it. From the back tees the eighteen holes measure 6,669 yards against a par of 72 — the longest of the three PGM courses here — with a single korai green on each hole. Four par 5s and four par 3s are spread evenly across the two nines.
This is a self-play course: the club lists no caddies, and rounds are played from riding carts with GPS navigation. There is no driving range, and on the course there are only soft-drink vending machines. Rental clubs are ¥4,400 for a full men's or women's set, single clubs ¥550, and shoes ¥1,100, all in limited numbers, so request them in advance. The club has three function rooms, holding up to ninety people, which is worth knowing if you are travelling as a larger group.
We arranged rounds here for overseas visitors in July 2026, together with Chisan Country Club Hojo and Matsuyama Royal. We have not published a rate because rates change with the date and plan; tell us when you want to play and we will come back with the price for that day. Green fees in Japan move by date, day of the week and plan. We confirm the final rate for your date with you before the tee time is booked.
Getting there
In Toon, east of Matsuyama, on the slopes below the Saragamine range. The club runs no courtesy bus.
We include precise written directions (English and Japanese) with every confirmed booking. If you prefer a private car, we can introduce a partner hire-car provider; please confirm golf-bag space and book transport directly with the provider.
Visitor FAQ
Can overseas visitors play Matsuyama Kokusai?+
Yes. We arranged rounds at this course, and at two other PGM courses near Matsuyama, for overseas visitors in July 2026. Reservations are handled in Japanese, which is the part we do. We check your date with the club as part of the booking; if we cannot secure it, our fee is refunded in full.
Is there a caddie?+
No. The club lists no caddie service; every round is self-play from a riding cart with GPS navigation.
Can I rent clubs?+
Yes. Full sets for men and women are ¥4,400, single clubs ¥550, and shoes ¥1,100. Numbers are limited, so we ask the club to hold what you need when we book.
What does it cost?+
