Matsuyama Royal Golf Club opened on 23 April 1974 in the Nakayama district of Iyo, in wooded upland country inland from Matsuyama. It is operated by PGM, and the club gives the drive from central Matsuyama as about forty minutes.
The club presents it as a course in the high country, with forest all around. The two nines are different in character. The front nine has wide, flat fairways; the back nine is the tighter of the two and, by the club's account, asks for accurate, well-planned shots. From the back tees the eighteen holes measure 6,547 yards against a par of 72, with a single korai green on each hole.
You can take a caddie or play self. Caddies are by advance reservation and limited in number. Carts carry GPS navigation, and driving onto the fairway costs ¥550 per player, applied to the whole group and dependent on the weather and the course. There is no driving range, and on the course itself there are only soft-drink vending machines, which take cash. Rental clubs are ¥3,300 a set and shoes ¥770, both limited, so request them in advance.
We arranged rounds here for overseas visitors in July 2026, together with Chisan Country Club Hojo and Matsuyama Kokusai. We have not published a rate because rates change with the date and plan; tell us when you want to play and we will come back with the price for that day. Green fees in Japan move by date, day of the week and plan. We confirm the final rate for your date with you before the tee time is booked.
