Japan Golf Trip Planning: Multi-Round Trips Booked in English
The best Japan golf trips are Japan trips with golf woven in. Tell us your cities and dates — we route and book every round in English.
Updated October 2026
The short answer
A good Japan golf trip has 2–4 rounds woven into a 7–10 day trip, played on weekdays and booked 2–3 months ahead in spring and autumn. Golf Caddie Japan plans and books every round in English for ¥6,000 per player per round (¥8,000 per round for a solo booking) — two players and three rounds is ¥36,000 in booking fees, with green fees paid at each course.
The trips our guests enjoy most aren’t wall-to-wall golf. They’re Japan trips — temples, food, onsen towns — with two or three well-chosen rounds woven in. Here’s how we plan them, and what we do for you.

What we do for your golf trip
- Plan each round around your route. Tell us where you’re staying each night, and we suggest a course that fits each leg, your level and your budget.
- Book every round in Japanese. Most courses take reservations only in Japanese. We handle the calls and confirm each booking in English.
- Arrange rental clubs for each round, so you can travel light.
- Send an English guide for every round: check-in, the nearest station and club bus, dress code, and the lunch break between nines.
- Introduce licensed partners for transport if you’d like a private car for the day. You book and pay them directly.
What it costs: ¥6,000 (about US$40) per player per round, tax included (¥8,000 per round for a solo booking). Two players and three rounds is ¥36,000 in booking fees. Green fees are paid at each course on the day. Cancel at least 14 days before a round for a full refund of its fee.
Step 1: Pick your season
Spring (late March–May). Cherry blossoms peak from late March to mid-April. A round at Fugaku Country Club with Mt. Fuji behind the blossoms is hard to beat. Book 2–3 months ahead; this is Japan’s busiest travel season.
Autumn (October–November). Crisp air, autumn colours and stable weather — some of the best golf conditions of the year, with slightly easier bookings than spring.
Summer (June–September). Honshu is hot and humid, with a rainy season in June. Hokkaido is the summer choice: dry, green and around 25°C. See our Hokkaido golf guide.
Winter (December–February). Courses near Tokyo and Osaka stay open, quieter and often cheaper, with clear Mt. Fuji views on cold mornings. Okinawa plays year-round — see our Okinawa golf guide. Hokkaido is under snow.
Step 2: Route the golf around your cities
Most Japan trips follow the Tokyo–Mt. Fuji–Kyoto–Osaka route, and so does the best golf for visitors. These are courses where we regularly book overseas guests:
- Tokyo: Narashino Country Club (PGA Tour ZOZO Championship venue), Camellia Hills (near Haneda Airport) and PGM Maria Golf Links (Pete Dye design). See all 14 options in our guide to golf courses near Tokyo.
- Mt. Fuji: Asagiri Country Club (Mt. Fuji views from the course), Fugaku Country Club and Daifuji Golf Club. Base yourself at Lake Kawaguchi or near Shin-Fuji Station. More in our Mt. Fuji golf guide.
- Kyoto and Osaka: Seta Golf Course (54 holes in the hills above Lake Biwa, convenient from Kyoto) and Osaka Golf Club (a seaside course along Osaka Bay). More in our guides to golf near Kyoto and Osaka.
- Hokkaido (summer): courses close to New Chitose Airport, such as Shamrock Country Club, about ten minutes from the terminal.
Ship your clubs between regions. Japan’s takkyubin courier service carries a golf bag from your hotel to the next course for about ¥2,500–¥4,500 per leg, so you ride the Shinkansen without it.
Plan the rest days too. If your route goes west of Osaka, the Setouchi Inland Sea makes a strong rest-day region — Finding Naoshima covers the art islands in detail, down to ferry timings and museum reservations. Pair it with a round in Matsuyama on Shikoku, where weekday golf is good value and quiet.
Sample itinerary: 8 days, 3 rounds, first visit
- Day 1 (Sat): Land at Haneda. Settle in.
- Day 2 (Sun): Tokyo sightseeing — leave weekend tee times to local members.
- Day 3 (Mon): Round 1 near Tokyo — Narashino or Camellia Hills. Ship your clubs to the Mt. Fuji area that evening.
- Day 4 (Tue): Shinkansen or bus to Mt. Fuji. Onsen night.
- Day 5 (Wed): Round 2 at Asagiri or Fugaku, with Mt. Fuji in view. Ship your clubs to Kyoto.
- Day 6 (Thu): Train to Kyoto. Temples and dinner.
- Day 7 (Fri): Round 3 at Seta Golf Course, then an evening in Kyoto.
- Day 8 (Sat): Fly home from Kansai Airport.
Booking fees for this trip: ¥18,000 per player (three rounds). Weekday green fees at these courses start from roughly ¥15,000–¥28,000 per round — see our cost guide for the full budget.
Sample itinerary: 10 days, golf-first, summer
Tokyo (one round near the city) → fly to Hokkaido for two rounds near New Chitose Airport → return via Mt. Fuji for a final round at Asagiri. Four rounds in three regions, with your clubs shipped ahead between each.
Booking timeline
- 2–3 months before: fix your dates and send us your route. Weekend rounds and spring or autumn dates go first.
- After you pay the fee for each round: we contact the course, confirm the final price with you and book.
- Before each round: we send your English guide with the station, club bus and check-in details.
- On the day: you play golf.
Send us your cities, dates and how many rounds you’d like — one form, two minutes — and we’ll reply in English within 24 hours with a course for each leg and a written quote.
In their words
How it went for golfers we booked
Booking golf tee times in Japan as a foreigner can be incredibly difficult, but this company made the entire experience effortless. Their communication was outstanding—they responded quickly, answered every question, and kept us informed every step of the way. They handled all of the scheduling and logistics with incredible efficiency, making the entire process completely stress-free.
Our family of four had an unforgettable day on the course. The golf was fantastic, and the traditional lunch served between the front and back nine was an amazing experience that made the day even more memorable. Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish.
If you're traveling to Japan and want to play golf, I can't recommend this service enough. It is by far the easiest and most convenient way to book tee times, and I truly don't think we could have done it without them. Any foreign golfer visiting Japan should absolutely use this service. We'll definitely be booking through them again on our next trip!
Golf caddie Japan made it very easy for me to book a teetime and rentalclubs. Furthermore they gave me advise which course was nearby my vacation destination. A very very good service for a low fee.
Quick answers
Can you book several rounds in different cities on one trip?+
Yes. Send us your route and dates, and we propose a course for each leg — for example near Tokyo, around Mt. Fuji and near Kyoto — then book every round in English. The fee is ¥6,000 per player per round (¥8,000 per round for a solo booking).
Do you arrange hotels and transport too?+
We book the golf. For hotels and transport, we can introduce licensed partners who quote and book with you directly. We include directions, station and club bus details for every round.
How many rounds should I plan on a Japan trip?+
For a 7–10 day trip with sightseeing, 2–3 rounds is the sweet spot. Golf-first trips can manage 5–6 rounds if you ship your clubs between regions.
What's the best month for a Japan golf trip?+
October–November and April–May have the best weather across most of Japan. For Hokkaido, go between July and September. Winter golf is possible near Tokyo and Osaka, and in Okinawa year-round.
How far ahead should I book?+
Two to three months ahead for spring and autumn, and for any weekend round. Weekday rounds outside peak season can often be arranged a few weeks out.
Should I bring my clubs or rent?+
For one or two rounds, rent at the course. For three or more, many golfers bring their own and ship them between regions by courier for about ¥2,500–¥4,500 per leg.
